I Pamoka

I. Pamokos pradžia:

Warm – up

a) in pairs decide what “perpetuum mobile” can mean.

Mokiniai spėlioja, ką galėtų reikšti ši frazė. Išsiaiškiname, kad tai – amžinasis variklis.

b) What language do these words come from? (Latin)

Išsiaiškiname, kad tai lotyniškos kilmės žodžiai, reiškiantys “amžinai judantis”.

c) the English words for “perpetuum mobile” are – perpetual motion.

Pateikiamas angli?kas atitikmuo – perpetual motion.

II. Aptariama pamokos tema ir tikslai:

Paaiškinama, kad pamokos tikslas yra mokytis versti tekstą, kurio pagrindines mintis reikės nagrinėti fizikos pamokoje.

Today we shall try to translate the text “Perpetuum mobile” into Lithuanian. Using English – Lithuanian dictionares.

III. Darbas su tekstu iš interneto:

a) Mokiniai gauna tekstus iš interneto arba būna juos paruošę patys, pavyzdžiui:

Tekstas

Explanation:

That perpetum mobile is based on magnetic field. The small magnets are positioned in the way that magnetic filed of the big magnet is turning the wheel.

Tekstas

As you can see from the picture, there is a line of turbines and a wather jet flowing throgh them. Let’s say that the water is flowing withouth any looses from a tank pozitioned 10m higher then the turbines. According to the mathematics and physics, from the powwer needed to pump the wather back into the tank., and the ideal power that we can get from the turbines is not the same.

Let’s assume that the magnitude of the flow is 10 liter per second (m=10 l/s). The speed of the injetion flow is u=14.00714104m/s. The power, needed to pump the wather back into the tank is P=F*v=m*v*v, that meanes that P=1.962 W.

The jet flows into the first turbine. If we calculate the optimum tangential speed of the turbine, we find that it’s magnitude is v1=u/3=4.669047013. The power we can get from the first turbine is P1=m/3*u^2=P/3=0.654.

Then the jet enters the second tubine. The ideal work, that we can get from the second turbine is P2=m/3*(2/3*u)^2. Analog the work from turbine number n is Pn=m/3*(2/3*u)^(2*n).

If the line of the turbines is very long then the whole amount of wor from all turbines is P=1.1772W.

As you see the power from turbines is of less magnitude then the the power needed to pump the wather back into the tank. So if we rotate the turbines, we pump the wather in the rezervoar and actually benefit power.

This is really a simple demonstration, why all magnet or gravity related perpetuum mobile machines won’t work.

As it can be seen from rhe picture, we simply put a megnet under a cylinder.made of iron. The magnet is not pozitioned under the rotation center, so it atracts one side of the cylinder more than the other. That is why the cylinder startes to rotate.

Unfortunately, this thinking is wrong. All parts of the cylinder that fall in the greater gravity (magnetic) level must be pushet out, as well. All the work, that a part of cylinder gets when it’s mooving toward the greater gravity (magnetic) level is needed when it is pushed back out of it..

That is the reason vhy all gravity and magnet bazed perpetuum mobile machines cwill never work.

Užduotys prieš skaitant tekstą:

1. Before we start translating the text look througt it and find the words you can understand without the help of a dictionary

(Moksleiviai akimis perbėga tekstą, ieškodami žodžių, kuriuos jie supranta be žodyno).

Randami šie žodžiai:

Magnet cylinder
Turbine position
Physics center
Liter mechanic
Reservour energy
Demonstration calculate
Machine program
Idea problem.

3. Mokiniai ieško neteisingai parašytų žodžių, pasako juos, o mokytoja parodo (ant lentos), kaip teisingai juos rašyti.

(Šis darbas atliekamas prieš skaitant tekstą, kad mokiniai galėtų rasti žodžius žodyne, nes netaisyklingai parašytų žodžių reikšmių jie nesuras).

b) teksto skaitymas ir vertimas.

Kiekviena pora turi išversti panašios apimties teksto dalį:

Pair 1 will tranlate pages 2-3,
Pair 2 – pg. 4 para 1-2
Pair 3 – pg. 4 para 3-6
Pair 4 – pg. 5 para 1-2
Pair 5 – pg. 5 para 3-4
Pair 6 – pg 6, 7
Pair 7 – pg. 8.

Užduotys skaitant tekstą:

Surasti nežinomus žodžius žodyne.
Išversti nurodytą teksto dalį.
Pasiruošti pristatyti klasei naujus žodžius ir teksto vertimą.

2 pamoka

Tikslai:

1. Tobulinti skaitymo ir vertimo įgūdžius;
2. Mokytis redaguoti tekstą;
3. Pratimai su prielinksniais iš teksto;
4. Klausimų sudarymo pratybos, remiantis tekstu;
5. Patikrinti, kaip orientuojasi visame tekste, ieškant angliškų atitikmenų lietuviškiems.

Pamokos eiga:

Warm – up.

Grupėse po 5 mokiniai bando prisiminti žodžius, susijusius su fizika. Jei nesiseka, jiems padeda mokytojas.

Suggested words: mass, gravity, power, movement, magnet, pole, field, etc.

Teksto vertimų pateikimas:

1. Mokiniai paaiškina, kokius naujus žodžius jie rado (iš anksto užrašę lentoje arba ant didelio lapo).

2. Perskaito savo vertimą, kiti mokiniai seka tekstą, siūlo geresnį variantą.

3. Išversto teksto ir pristatymo įvertinimas (vertinamas bendras poros ir individualus kiekvieno darbas).

Atliekami gramatikos pratimai pagal tekstą:

1. Įterpk teisingą prielinksnį:

a) Paper is made … wood.

b) The level of gravity depends … the magnetic field.

c) Large turbines were filled … water.

d) The whole amount … water is powed out.

2. Klausimų sudarymas informacijai gauti.

3. Apibendrinimas:

a) pakartojame, kokius tarptautinius žodžius radome fizikos tekste.

Summing up, I’d like to ash you what international words related to physics we have found?

b) ieškodami angliškų atitikmenų, patikriname, ar gerai supratome tekstą:

1. pagrįstas magnetinio lauko veikimu;

2. priklausantis nuo rato padėties;

5. štai kodėl mechanizmas pradeda suktis.

Pamokos pabaiga:

Aptariame, kas, verčiant tekstą, buvo sunkiausia ir įdomiausia.
